I am proud to be born and bred in New Plymouth. I attended Spotswood College before leaving half way though my Seventh Form year to start my working career at Inland Revenue. I spent 18 years with IRD and gained my accounting qualifications through WITT and the Open Polytechnic of NZ while there. The last 10 years at the IRD were mainly as a Tax Investigator. I then joined Vanburwray in August 2007 to work for Ross.
Sport has been a big part of my life with earlier years playing football and sailing at the New Plymouth Yacht Club. My claim to fame is beating Russell Coutts in a yacht race many years ago, he was disqualified for an early start (minor detail). I keep fit now by jogging, cycling and playing tennis at Waiawaka, where I am Club Captain. I also race slot cars for a bit of fun, for which I get a lot of ribbing from friends and family for.
I am married to Sue and have two adult children and a teenage son.
I am passionate about assisting fellow small business owners and investors.
